Viral YouTube Sensation Walk Off the Earth Releases Original Song, ‘Summer Vibe’ (VIDEO)

Canadian indie band Walk Off The Earth gained viral attention earlier this year after posting a YouTube video of a masterful cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” with all five musicians playing on a single acoustic guitar. Charming viewers around the globe and launching Gotye into sudden fame, the video shot up to 35 million views in under two weeks, with over 125 million views today.

Gotye himself expressed approval via Twitter, calling the new video “hilarious and brilliant.”

In February, the five-person powerhouse — comprised of Gianni Luminati, Sarah Blackwood, Ryan Marshall, Joel Cassady, and Mike Taylor — was signed by Columbia Records. This week, Walk Off The Earth debuts its new original song, “Summer Vibe,” just in time for those sand and sun-filled sunshine days.
