Drake Produces Posthumous Aaliyah Song – ‘Enough Said’ (LISTEN)

Beloved singer Aaliyah’s smooth vocals come back to our soundwaves today with completely fresh material, 11 years after the R&B artist died in a plane crash.

Since it was hinted at last week that Drake — who has a tattoo of Aaliyah on his back — was acting as executive producer on a posthumous Aaliyah album, the rapper just released a single, entitled, “Enough Said,” produced by Noah “40” Shebib and featuring none other than Drizzy himself.

Despite the sweet surprise of hearing Aaliyah’s voice again, fans are raging about how the single seems like it was merely used to boost Drake’s ego and and own album sales, when any posthumous work by Aaliyah should have really involved longtime collaborators, Timbaland (also under Blackground Records – as Aaliyah was) and Missy Elliot.

This blog post on the Village Voice, entitled, “Dear Drake: Please Leave Aaliyah Alone,” popped up quickly, along with angry tweets directed at Drake and his misguided efforts.

Drake producing Aaliyah’s unfinished album? Is he a producer? Does Aaliyah even know him? Aaliyah’s music should be handled by timberland!
