  • At University of Maryland, students of the Clark School of Engineering teamed up with their faculty advisors from the Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Center in the Clark Schools Department of Aerospace Engineering for the Gamera Project design challenge.

And TeamGameraHPH‘s extraordinary feat is making the rounds on YouTube.

The team has been working on upgrading the flying duration of the Gamera II Human Powered Helicopter to a record 8ft in altitude.

Record-breaking stats aside, it’s really cool to watch an actual human-powered device ascend, as well as how proud and excited the students are to see their own hard work come to fruition.

Do you think you can make something like that?
