Never Say Never, Beliebers! Justin Bieber just made his first public appearance at Coachella last night alongside “7 rings” performer Ariana Grande.

At the end of her set, Grande announced, “I wasn’t going to bring out any guests tonight, but my friend Justin Bieber came all the way out” adding, “this was not planned at all.” Justin appeared, wearing his “Drew” necklace and hat from his merch line as well as a white t-shirt and a black and green button down jacket.

They broke into “Sorry,” and it was evident to many that the Canadian was lip-syncing as he pulled the mic away from his face multiple times while the track was still playing. Not to mention it sounded identical to the recorded version. The choice to sing “Sorry” was a bit of a surprise as Justin and Ariana recorded a version of “What do You Mean” together for Justin’s deluxe Purpose album back in 2015.

After their performance, the “No Brainer” singer gushed, “I haven’t been on stage in like two years. I came out here, no idea I was gonna be on stage tonight.” He even commented on his trendy look, stating, “I wore this fly outfit not knowing I was gonna be on stage. I had to get my groove back, get my swag back.” C’mon, Biebs, it’s pretty evident you never lost the swag in the first place.

This surprise performance was a bit different than when the two artists shared the stage back in 2015 on Grande’s “Honeymoon Tour” in Inglewood, CA. At the time, Grande was dating “Bounce Back” rapper Big Sean. At the end of their performance of “As Long as You Love Me,” Justin hugged Grande from behind, swaying her back and forth while holding onto her waist. At first, Grande smiled, but then laughed and walked away from Bieber, letting on she was a bit uncomfortable with the interaction.

Bieber exited the Coachella stage Sunday night after their duet, saying, “Thank you Coachella, thank you to Ariana Grande. She’s so amazing by the way, she’s so awesome.”

What do you think of the “Sorry” singer’s first time performing in over 2 years? Do you think Justin will put out any new music in the near future? Let us know in the comments section down below.
