Since she was last here (performing “Electric Daisy Violin“), YouTube’s rocking violinist Lindsey Stomp released her new album and embarked on a 20+ city tour across America. Now – rocking her earwarmers/headphones – she’s back in the What’s Trending studio to rock out to her “Celtic Medley” and reveal upcoming plans for new collaborations and tunes.
Having first gained national recognition as a quarter-finalist on the fifth season of “America’s Got Talent,” where she was known as the “hip-hop violinist,” Lindsey now leads her own majorly successful LindseyStomp YouTube channel, making violin fun, quirky and mainstream.
Still buzzing fro the thrill of her first big tour, Lindsey says, “When you see that you’re getting millions of views on YouTube, they’re numbers. And suddenly when you go perform […] and you’re meeting all these people that tell you that your music means something to them, those views change to people. Suddenly, numbers are faces and individuals.”
While she’s known for her awesome TV theme song covers like Game of Thrones with Peter Hollens, she’s always keen on taking requests for new videos and even hints her plans to cover some movie soundtracks in the near future.
Lindsey’s also no stranger to YouTube collaborations. Expect a piece with her and Tyler Ward (who performed on the show last week!) on the horizon. “Before I was a YouTuber, I would watch his stuff and be like, ‘one day…'” she admitted. Though he didn’t respond to her initial enthusiastic messages back in the day, now the two are buddies and making music together!
