  • In the wake of the polarizing debut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. has released the second full-length trailer for Suicide Squad. After the many scathing reviews from critics, it would appear as though the studio would like to shift gears in tone for their upcoming, villainous release.

Set to the tune of “The Ballroom Blitz” by the band Sweet, the trailer features DC Comics’ iconic anti-heroes in a bombastic series of exciting action sequences and quippy one-liners, far more enticing for those who felt Dawn of Justice may have been too dower. But don’t worry; sad Batman (Ben Affleck) will still be making an appearance in Suicide Squad too.

The new Suicide Squad trailer doesn’t feature too many new story details since the first trailer made waves last year after San Diego Comic-Con, but this one features a ton of new footage of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and The Joker (Jared Leto). After Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman became one of the biggest highlights of the film, there’s no surprise that Warner Bros. would like to put their most anticipated characters in Suicide Squad right in the forefront of their marketing efforts. And we especially look forward to Harley’s silver screen introduction this summer.

Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.
