  • I gotta be honest, I have a complicated relationship with Meghan Trainor. Sure she’s got a great voice, and I’m all about Girl Power anthems like her new single “No,” where she announces to the world she doesn’t need a man, thank you very much — but it’s a little unconvincing following that “Dear Future Husband” video, what with the 1950s-housewife-scrubbing-the-kitchen-floor-in-high-heels imagery and everything.

So I’m glad Pentatonix did me a solid and performed a version of “No” that I can really get behind. How fabulous and brutal is Mitch Grassi crooning, “I think it’s so cute and I think it’s so sweet, how you let your friends encourage you to try and talk to me”? Whoever’s getting rejected this hard is going to crawl home and hide in bed for a week.

It’s also great to see Pentatonix still making their classic cover videos even while their career is skyrocketing and they’re winning Grammys all over the place. Never change, guys.
