  • Let’s talk a little bit about what’s going on in the rap world. As of late, it seems like a lot of artists are gearing up for their “final albums.”

Fans absolutely lost it when J. Cole stated he wanted to “retire,” but he recently featured on Logics’s latest album titled, Everybody. Even Logic has stated his next album will be his last… for awhile.

Joining the likes of J.Cole and Logic is Childish Gambino.

During his performance at Governors Ball, the rapper stated his next album as Childish Gambino would be his last as he walked off stage. The crowd was in awe!

  • This news, however, should not come as a shock to us as the rapper has hinted at a “retirement” before.

In a recent interview with Huffington Post, Glover stated he felt Gambino was no longer necessary.

There’s nothing worst [sic] than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we’re like, ‘again?'” You know, I like it when something’s good and when it comes back, there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that.

As much as the word retirement has been flying around the rap world, I’m not too worried about it. From Glover’s statement, it looks like music is not completely out of the cards!

If anything, we should be grateful we got Redbone before Glover decided to call it quits on Gambino. That song is EVERYTHING.

Let’s not forget everything the man has going on film and television wise. It makes sense why he would want a break! Glover will be appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming, due out this July, will be voicing Simba in the live-action remake of The Lion King, and is currently developing an animated Deadpool series for FXX.

Listen Donald, if you want to retire that is fine, do your thing. Gambino’s last album better be FIRE though.
