One of the most successful streaming sites, Netflix, which once mocked its users in a Tweet, has received many complaints this week, due to the company announcing a trial run of advertisements in between shows.

Netflix is one of the most popular streaming sites, overtaking the likes of Hulu and any and all rivals. However, due to a recent announcement from the company that they’re planning on inserting advertisements and previews of other shows during users’ binge watching streaming time, many subscribers of the service have threatened to leave.

Customers have complained about the announcement, finding the idea of commercials on their paid service unreasonable. Heck, they’re not paying to watch advertisements. In fact, they’re paying not to see any ads at all. They’re paying binge watch Friends for the 18th time and re-evaluate their life when the ‘are you still watching?’ screen pops up. Yeah, I know the feeling.

Anyway, moving on from the too close to home reference, Netflix users have commented on this situation, saying that no one even enjoys watching ads, let alone paying for them. Another reason people subscribe to Netflix, is so that they’re able to watch show after show with no interruptions, so why would Netflix think that this would be a good idea? We’re completely lost, and it seems like most of the internet are too…

Even though this is just an idea in the works, some people who subscribe to Netflix have already experienced this disheartening situation, as the company are trying it out on certain people to test the reaction from users. I can tell you now, ‘flix, people aren’t liking it, and I’m not sure you’re going to get a response from one person who does.

Although, Netflix does have its loyal fans, who would never leave their side. Even when they’re trying to put us in absolute misery, some people have realized that Netflix is a real one, and have only ever tried their best to give us good content at a low price…

Personally, I don’t want to pay $15 a month, just to be interrupted during my Netflix session, and I’m pretty sure that’s how the majority feels. However, we still sit through what feels like, the hours and hours’ worth of adverts that YouTube and Facebook play throughout every video, so maybe we might get used to it?
