Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says he is “ashamed, embarrassed and humiliated” by his behaviour after leaving rehab following two months of intensive treatment. Mr Ford apologised again to the city of Toronto after admitting last year that he had smoked crack cocaine in a drunken stupor, following months of denials.

Mayor Rob Ford returned to the city of Toronto following a stint in rehab. During his first press conference, the Mayor seemed like a new man. He was contrite, he was emotional, he promised to continue with his treatment and according to his brother Doug the Mayor went from a size 52 waist to size 44. We got our first glimpse of his post-rehab body and he actually looks pretty good.

  • Mashable has the crucial details of the press conference…

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford offered an emotional public apology at a press conference Monday afternoon, after returning to work at City Hall following a two-month stint in rehab.

“I want to sincerely apologize not just to the people of Toronto, but every single person who was hurt by my words and my actions,” Ford said at the conference. “I am not asking you for forgiveness. I accept full responsibility for what I have done.”

“I have no one to blame but myself.”

  • Sun News has the reactions of other Toronto Mayoral potentials…

“He should have resigned from office, he should have resigned some time ago in light of everything that’s happen and he should still step down from office,” Tory said. “He has massively embarrassed our city.

“I think his refusal to answer questions today is a further indication that he doesn’t get it.”

Tory argued Ford is “incapable” of working with council again or any other level of government.
