Few have forgotten Rosie O’Donnell’s explosive on-air quarrel with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck over the Iraq war. The exchange led to O’Donnell leaving The View in May 2007. However, in light of Barbara Walters leaving the show, many have viewed her return as a breath of fresh, albeit potentially dangerous, air.

Rosie made any number of enemies during her time on the view. Besides her former co-host, Hasselbeck, is businessman Donald Trump. Both expressed distaste towards her, though Hasselbeck seemed less inclined to accept the idea that Rosie’s return would help the show.

“Talk about not securing the border. Here comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there,” Hasselbeck said told Entertainment Tonight Online.

“I think it’s a good move on ABC’s part,” Trump said, according to The New York Daily News. “It’ll have a short term positive effect. The show has really missed not having Barbara (Walters) on it. With that said, it’ll have a short term positive impact, but then you have the long term. Rosie always self-destructs.”

Trump went out to express his dislike of her, though he did say he would still be willing to be a guest on the show for the sake of interest.

“I just did the show last week. It wouldn’t bother me. In fact, it would be the hottest show of the week. I’m the first one they’ll think of,” he told the source.

Love her, or hate her, Rosie has certainly caused quite a stir: free publicity for The View.
