You can tell a lot about a person by the way they behave when they win, or when they lose. So it was a telling moment when TMZ Sports interviewed UFC fighter Holly Holm about her shocking upset over the weekend, and Holm came to Rousey’s defense.

TMZ Sports asked Holm about recent trash talk Rousey has received from Lady Gaga, Donald Trump and Mohammed Ali’s daughter, former women’s boxing champion Laila Ali, who remarked: “In order to be the best in the world you definitely don’t ever get beat up like that in your prime, period.”

Holm took the high road about all of it, saying she didn’t want any of that to happen to Rousey. “Rhonda’s been a very dominant champ and she’s taken the sport to new levels,” she said. “And this fight wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t accomplished what she’s accomplished. So I have a lot of respect for her.”

“Don’t get me wrong,” she added, “I don’t want to give away any bit of my victory. I’ll take it – I’ll take the win, and I’ll take that I did it dominantly. But that doesn’t mean I wish any harm on her, that doesn’t mean I wish any hate on her. I think people can be pretty brutal, and when you’re in the spot she’s in, there are people that are just going to jump ship. And I don’t ever wish for that.”
