You’ve got to give Donald Trump one thing – he’s made CSPAN pretty entertaining.
The Republican presidential frontrunner gave a speech at super-evangelical Liberty University to brush up his Conservative Christian credentials – and quickly made it clear that he probably hasn’t opened a Bible more than three times in his entire life.
“I asked Jerry and I asked some of the folks because I hear this a major theme right here, Two Corinthians, right? Two Corinthians 3:17, that’s the whole ballgame!”
The correct wording, as literally everybody else in the auditorium knew, is Second Corinthians 3:17.
As people audibly laughed, he read, “‘Where the spirit of the Lord,’ right? ‘Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.’ And here there is Liberty College – Liberty University – but it is so true.”
“Is that the one?” he added. “Is that the one you like? I think that’s the one you like, because I loved it.”
There was other stuff about Syria and “tremendous crowds” and Hillary Clinton, but we’re really not finished with Two Corinthians yet.
