Ted Cruz at 18 Was Just As Insufferable As He Is Now
“Aspirations,” says 18-year-old Ted Cruz in this old grainy footage from 1988. “Is that like sweat on my butt?”
In that moment, he has the most punchable face I’ve ever seen in my life.
If you follow politics, you’ve probably heard the stories about what Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz was like growing up – arrogant, crazy ambitious, obnoxious and kind of creepy. His college roommate from Princeton, Craig Mazin, became Twitter famous when he started revealing how miserable it was to live in the same room with him.
Now we have video proof – a grainy clip of Cruz at Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas, talking about his goals for the future.
He starts by saying he wants to be in a “teen tit film,” then thinks it over and says, “Other than that? Take over the world. World domination, you know, rule everything. Rich, powerful, that sort of stuff.”
Gotta say, it’s hard to brush this off as “most boys are crude and obnoxious at 18” when it turns out he absolutely was not kidding about that “world domination” thing.
