  • We may be used to slow traffic here in LA, but now we have this slow jam… about traffic.

Proving that our mayor is basically cooler than yours, Mayor Eric Garcetti is getting the word out about the 2.5 mile (from the 10/101 split to the 5/10/101 interchange) closure of one of Los Angeles’ main thoroughfares via this tongue in cheek music video made with the help of some Roosevelt High School students.

Either that, or he’s prepping for his post-mayoral music career…I mean it is LA.

  • Starting at 10pm, Friday February 4th and ending at 2pm on Sunday the 6th, the highway will be closed for the demolition of the historic 6th Street bridge. This will hardly be as bad as “Carmegeddon,” though Caltrans expects an average of around 126,000 cars to be diverted each day.

Let’s be honest, we’ll probably just see every indie filmmaker out trying to snag some footage of the empty highway for their next apocalypse webseries.
