  • Look, we’ve spent a lot of time making fun of Donald Trump over the past few months. He’s loud and boorish and absurd and he has orange skin and stupid hair, and the jokes honestly write themselves.

But there is actually a very real chance that we could elect this man as our next president.

This morning, political reporters all over Twitter were flabbergasted (that word should be used more often) when New Jersey governor Chris Christie, famous for shutting down bridges and being a proudly belligerent jerk with reporters, endorsed Trump’s campaign.

  • Meanwhile, Trump is starting to look like the inevitable Republican nominee after winning South Carolina by a huge margin. He currently has 82 delegates – Ted Cruz in second place only has 17.

Who are all these people that actually want “United States President Donald Trump” to be a thing? Well, a new YouGov/Economist poll found that 20% of Trump supporters do not agree with the Emancipation Proclamation which freed the slaves after the Civil War. A third of all Trump voters think the Japanese internment during World War II was a good idea, and in South Carolina, which Trump recently won by a huge margin, a third of his voters support barring gays and lesbians from entering the country.

I’ll just be sitting over here in California feeling depressed for a bit.
