  • Facebook has decided it has had enough of Snapchat, and is striking back through its launch of Instagram Stories.

We’re not kidding when we say Instagram Stories looks exactly like Snapchat. It does, almost down to the placement of icons. I guess if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! According to Instagram’s blog:

With Instagram Stories, you don’t have to worry about overposting. Instead, you can share as much as you want throughout the day — with as much creativity as you want. You can bring your story to life in new ways with text and drawing tools. The photos and videos will disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear on your profile grid or in feed.

Stories your friends have posted will appear at the top of your feed, and it includes the ability to send private messages so you can respond to said stories. You can also set your settings to be private (only visible to your followers) or public (everyone can see it).
