  • Marshawn Lynch appeared on his good friend Conan O’Brien’s show Conan again last night. (You might remember his last appearance, when he, Conan, and Rob Gronkowski memorably played Mortal Kombat X.) Lynch has been popping up all over the place, with rumors that he could be coming back to the NFL. He’s garnering a great deal of attention for his remarks on the Colin Kaepernick controversy.

In the video above, Conan asks Lynch his opinion on the controversy. This isn’t the first time we’ve covered the Kaepernick controversy, nor the second, nor even the third, but this is an important discussion to have.

Lynch responds to Conan’s question by saying that he’d rather see Kaepernick take a knee than “stand up, put his hands up and get murdered” — something which now seems an all too common occurrence, with the latest police shooting coming just this week. Lynch continued:

”**** gotta start somewhere, and if that was the starting point, I just hope people open up their eyes to see that there’s really a problem going on, and something needs to be done for it to stop. And I mean, if you’re really not racist, then you won’t see what he’s done… what he’s doing as a threat to America, but just addressing a problem that we have.”

It’s been a heavily political day here at What’s Trending, so if you want something lighter, here’s Lynch playing Willy Wonka. He hands out a golden ticket to go tour the factory where his chocolate bars are made. Fun!
