  • Rudy Giuliani was a featured guest at a Trump rally in Florida this week. During the rally, he claimed that Hillary Clinton didn’t care about the lessons learned from the attacks of September 11, 2001. He said that he was there in New York City, but that, in his words, “I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton there.” Soon after, photos were released of Clinton standing right next to Giuliani in New York City shortly after the attacks.

To be fair, Giuliani was referring specifically to September 11th — Clinton arrived from DC on the 12th, as planes were grounded on 9/11. The story was originally reported in this tweet:

  • This comes a few months after Rudy said the opposite. According to NJ.com, Giuliani said in July that Clinton was “enormously helpful” after 9/11.

Online reporters took the story and ran with it. Tweets like this one emerged:

  • The story comes after Hillary stated she was there for New York after the event. Considering the immense amount of work she and then-fellow NY Senator Chuck Schumer put into getting the federal government to help survivors of the attacks, that’s a true statement. Though Giuliani’s memory of the specific day is technically correct, it’s misleading to criticize someone when they were there as soon as they could have been. Other Twitter reactions:
