Doug Jones Beats Out Alleged Sex Criminal Roy Moore

  • In a year of hopelessness, we’ve got to take our good news where we can get it, and I have some incredibly good news: a pedophile did not win a race for the senate. I mean it was close — Alabama almost elected an alleged pedophile to the Senate, but guess what folks, they did no such thing, and I think that’s pretty cool in my book!

In case you have no idea what I’m talking about — and how could you have no idea what I’m talking about, honest to goodness — Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for the Alabama special election lost to Democrat Doug Jones — the first democratic win for Senator in Alabama since 1997, and a very big get for the famously red state. Also a big deal, Alabama didn’t elect a pedophile. Oh, my God. Not just a pedophile, but a pedophile who endorsed American slavery and was overall a homophobic creep. A homophobic creep who preyed on young girls and got banned from a mall for doing so.

But for the most part, this is a small sigh of relief. Until November, 9th, 2017, I don’t think anyone in American thought someone with so many credible accusations (and a recorded Hollywood Access admittance) could be elected to any office — hell, we didn’t think a person like that could be allowed into normal society. Then, Donald Trump won and Nazis marched on Charlottesville and everything went to trash. However — that was a weird Russia influenced election, so maybe inhuman monsters can’t actually win unless there’s an equally inhuman amount of cheating.

Anyway, Twitter came out to celebrate this win.

  • Social media is also thanking black women for the win — as 98% of black women voted for Doug Jones. Alternately, 72% of white men voted for Roy Moore which is like — guys. What the heck? 93% of black men voted for Doug Jones which is awesome, and 63% of white women voted for Roy Moore. And, many are pointing out — what has society done for black women to pay them back? Come on society! Anyway, here are some tweets on that.
