Demi Lovato Hospitalized After Apparent Heroin Overdose

According to sources, she is currently stable.

Demi Lovato has been hospitalized after an apparent heroin overdose, law enforcement confirmed to TMZ. She is being treated in an LA hospital after being transported from her Hollywood Hills home around noon PST. According to her current condition is stable.

The singer, who hit 6-years-sober in March released a song last month titled “Sober” that addressed a relapse, and her continued struggles with sobriety. Lovato has been a huge activist for sobriety after opening up about her own issues. In 2017, her documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated was released on YouTube, and fans had the chance to hear her full story. In the film, she was very open about her struggles with depression, substance abuse and eating disorders.

The singer has multiple tattoos dedicated to her sobriety including the words “Stay” and “Strong” on her wrists and another that says “now, I’m a warrior.” These words mimic lyrics from one of her songs. She also has a book titled “Stay Strong” which is one of the first places she had the chance to tell her story in her own words.

After hitting her 3-years sober mark, Lovato tweeted “you can turn your life around. You can go through hell and back. It is possible. Never underestimate yourself. I believe in you.” Today we are sending her all the strength in the world and wishing for a full recovery.
