Trump Fans Start #BoycottWalmart Hashtag Over Baby Onesie

Walmart, who it seems wants to remain apolitical in all matters except how it treats its employees apparently, has angered the far right after Ryan Fournier of Students for Trump discovered a onesie sold on Walmart’s site with the words “Impeach 45” on it. Ryan, deeply offended, took to Twitter quickly to call not only for the onesie to be taken from the website, but to impeach all of Walmart vis a vis boycott, completely owning the… well, not liberals, really. Liberals sort of hate Walmart. I guess owning tacky babies who believe in the Mueller probe. Anyway, now that WalMart is no longer a safe space for the young man, the hashtag #BoycottWalmart spread through the more conservative halls of Twitter. Here is the original Tweet.

Of course, there are a lot of incredibly legitimate reasons to Boycott Walmart. They pay workers lower than a living wage, drive local businesses out, stand against unions, use underage employees, offer little to no benefits, force them to work on holidays, and the children currently separated from their parents are being housed in abandoned Walmart. Walmart additionally stages “lock ins” of their night time employees to make sure they do not leave, which resulted in a tragedy when one employee in Florida had a heart attack and could not be rushed to medical care. The Daily Dot has it all in listicle form, making learning about the — let’s say controversial — practices of WalMart fun and breezy.

WalMart ended up replying to Fournier, telling him it will take the t-shirt off its online store, and explaining that it obtains clothing from third party sellers and does not design them on their own.

This is not the first item of clothing that WalMart has removed from its store following a political outcry in the Trump era. In November, 2017 it removed a shirt calling for the murder of journalists which said “Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED” and in December, 2016, after the outcry of the Fraternal Order of Police, absolutely triggered by the idea that maybe killing people based on a racial bias is wrong, Walmart removed the shirt “Bulletproof: Black Lives Matter” from their stores.

I will point out that the onesie seemed to call for a political process of impeachment, while these two shirts seem to show that that there are a lot of people who seem to be pro mass murder. So remember that next time anyone talks about civility.

So folks, if you want your baby to dress up in a onesie that protests the Trump administration, I guess you’ll have to go somewhere else. Although, if you really hate Trump, you shouldn’t shop at Walmart! Didn’t you see that listicle? It’s the Trump of stores!

Hell, if you want your baby to support liberal beliefs, why not support something more left leaning? Go buy a DSA onesie on Etsy! If your baby is going to rebel against the current political landscape, go all the way, baby!
