New Line Home Video is releasing the Extended Edition of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Blu-Ray and DVD this November, with a whole host of behind-the-scenes footage. Included in the mix is a featurette on the making of Smaug, with footage of Benedict Cumberbatch in a full motion-capture suit, going all Smaug on what appears to be a high-tech yoga mat.
The third installment of the Hobbit series will be in theaters on December 17. It’s called The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
