  • Be still our Harry Potter-loving hearts – Entertainment Weekly has new images of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander in the new prequel “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

  • If you’re somehow not familiar with this new part of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, 1) I’m not sure what to say to you and 2) it’s a prequel to the Harry Potter series, set in New York in 1926, about 70 years before Harry first went to Hogwarts.

The movies are inspired by a Hogwarts textbook of the same name (which J.K. Rowling released as a spinoff book in 2011) that Harry had to study in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. It contains the history of Magizoology and describes 85 magical creatures, which author Newt Scamander observed during years of travel across five continents.

  • The new film images from Entertainment Weekly show Newt looking dashing as he carries an awesome briefcase and stands at the foot of a staircase at the Magical Congress of the United States of America. Many people on the internet have pointed out that Redmayne’s character kind of looks like a cross between Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Benedict Cumberbatch in “Sherlock.” In other words, everything a nerdy fangirl could possibly want.

  • The new film, which is part of a trilogy – because of course it is – is set for release on November 18, 2016.
