  • Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and Winnie the Pooh. What do these three Disney franchises have in common? They’ve all been adapted into live-action films.

That’s right. Winnie the Pooh is the latest Disney tale that will be getting a live-action spin.

Marc Forster has signed on to direct the upcoming film, Christopher Robin, that will center on the human character in the Winnie the Pooh series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “the story centers on Robin, the adult version of the boy… who shares his adventures with the animals of the Hundred Acre Wood.” Much older now, Robin is a businessman who unfortunately prioritizes his career over his family, causing his home life to suffer. At this point, the last thing he needs is the return of his friends from Hundred Acre Wood, but he must find a way to balance everything “he holds dear.”

Reception to news of the remake so far has not been all that positive. Fans online, especially, feel as though some classics are better left alone.
