Marvel Comics Teams Up With Weapons Manufacturer Causing Outrage
Following the shooting in Las Vegas, Marvel has decided to do an admirable things and remove their promotion of the upcoming Netflix Punisher TV show from New York Comic-Con. This was a move lauded by fans — Marvel opted for sensitivity over profits. Then apparently Marvel went back to profits after it Tweeted out this missive of their new partnership with Northrop Grumman — the fifth largest arms manufacturer in the world, even unveiling the cover of an upcoming comic book of an Northropp Grumman inspired superhero team seemingly working with the Avengers in an All Ages book.
Why not. Other than — you know, the untold deaths that guns bring to our world, especially considering the events of this weekend. Hell, the movie that put Marvel on the map in the new era — Iron Man — involves a billionaire ending his arms manufacturing contracts after seeing the price he paid. Unfortunately, Marvel is not run by Tony Stark. This has gotten a lot of strong reactions from people.
How do you feel about this? Should the same company that owns Squirrel Girl and The Thing also teach kids that people who sell weapons are super heroes? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
