McDonalds Bring Back Szechuan Sauce After Rick and Morty Fans Riot
Imagine you’re a Rick and Morty fan. I know, I know. What a nightmare. Just kidding, it’s a good show, but it’s fans are a little… passionate. Take in point what happened when McDonald’s tried to make a little extra scratch selling to fans of this show. In the Season Three premiere, Rick, the mad scientist half of Rick and Morty, said that his true series arc is to find Szechuan Sauce — the promotional sauce McDonalds released for the movie Mulan in 1999.
Well, McDonald’s listened and brought back the sauce — with a series of some really bad ass posters. But folks, little did they underestimate how much grown ass men wanted some fake promotional sauce they heard in a cartoon. They sent about twenty packs per store, and my friends— chaos reigned.
Hell, let’s take a look at these grown men— who in the 40’s would be starting families by now — yelling about sauce.
Some made up fake kids crying.
Some could not believe McDonald’s employees found laughter and comedy in a mob demanding cartoon sauce.
Seeing the demand for the sauce, McDonald’s is no fool— they announced they will be bringing back the sauce for good in the winter (hell, maybe that’s what it was about). But the real story? Check out how dope these posters were!
Anyway, let’s enjoy a commercial for Szechuan Sauce from an era— an era when kids entertainment was actually for kids and adults didn’t lose their minds over fake Chinese sauce. Check it!
