The Rock Making Our 8-Bit Dreams Come True In Live Action Rampage Movie
Video game adaptations — unlike comic book adaptations — have famously had a rocky history. Wether it’s movies where Mario is Luigi’s father for some odd reason or movies that jump start the career of famously awful director Uwe Boll, video game movies have always been a difficult proposition for people. Well, this new version of Rampage, starring The Rock — seems like it could break that bad streak — by simply having fun.
The movie — based on the Midway Arcade game of the same name — stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as he discovers George — a gorilla who becomes his friend who seems to grow greater and greater in size. George gets kidnapped, experimented on — and we assume begins to Rampage (c), I’m sorry — rampage through the city accompanied by a massive wolf and lizard (here, a gator), just like in the game.
Although — and I ask you — why do they not turn into tiny nude humans when killed? Or maybe they do? I haven’t seen it yet. I just know that is essential to the mythos and have it they must!
