  • Awards season is ramping up folks, which means that all of those big awards that aren’t the ever loving Oscars are giving us their nominations, and eventually winners. A favorite amongst those for their spectacle and oddity are the Golden Globes, whose choices are often either a portent of the Academy Award race to come, or absolutely baffling. These kind of fall on both sides, with the controversy of “Get Out” being nominated for Best Comedy resulting in other controversial decisions.

First of all, no best screenplay or best director nominations for Jordan Peele’s “Get Out?!” Totally snubbed. Also, no best director nomination for Greta Gerwig?! Also, look, I haven’t seen “The Phantom Thread,” but any ignoring of Paul Thomas Anderson is probably a snub, right? I can get pre-emptively annoyed at that, right?

Anyway, the nominations include Boss Baby — which is a movie about how when babies are tickled on the tummy and don’t laugh when in Heaven, they get turned into Boss Babies instead of being sent to families. Yeah… someone thought Boss Baby could be the best of something. Godspeed Mr. Baby.

Make sure to check out the nominations below and let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
