Besides just being Marvel’s first female-led feature, the combination of the Academy Award-winning actress and the role of the tough as nails Kree warrior superhero Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, is more than enough cause for celebration. One odd aspect of the costume is, of course, the color scheme. The colors are the blue and green/gray of the male Captain Marvel from Marvel’s history way back when — rather than the insane and striking blue and red created by artist Jamie McKelvie.
