  • Kanye West went from having the time of his life on Twitter, to seemingly making sure no one else has the time of their life on Twitter after he plugged an alt-right writer named Candace Owens. Candace Owens is an African American commentator who said the Black Lives Matters movement was a bunch of “whiny toddlers”, that police violence is not an issue, that the black community suffers from “handouts”, and a lot of other far-right stuff, including anti-immigrant sentiment and so much of it. You know, the basic Donald Trump talking points. Well, people were shocked, although they shouldn’t be too shocked — Kanye went out of his way to meet with Donald Trump back when the guy was just President-Elect.

  • Now, as long as they don’t physically harm anyone, we tolerate a lot from our artists… and Kanye is testing that. After the Internet collectively went “wait, what?” after he Tweeted this, the alt-right adored it and Alex Jones even went as far as to invite Kanye on his show.

  • As of this writing this, Kanye is pulling one of my favorite weird alt-right tactics — playing up himself as a victim of the criticism and, in a stunningly odd move, retweeting no less than nine videos of Scott Adams, the alt-right creator of Dilbert.

  • So — it looks like Kanye still loves Trump, and it’s a bit of a bummer for, you know — his fans. Will the alt-right begin listening to rap now? Who knows!
