  • One is a doctor of the beat, the other, a doctor of the vagina, and the court has decided there is room for two people named Dr. Dre/Dr. Drai.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has this week squashed an ongoing, year-long legal feud between rapper Dr. Dre, real name Andre Romelle Young and creator of such albums as “The Chronic”, “Compton”, and “2001”, and Dr. Drai, real name Dr. Draimon M. Burch, author of “20 Things You May Not Know About the Vagina”. Both accomplished men, clearly, and both allowed to keep their names. But I digress.

Dr. Dre announced that he believes that Dr. Drai is trying “trade on the goodwill generated by” Dr. Dre’s namesake for profits, while Dr. Drai claims that as a gynecologist, using Dr. Dre’s name would not be a boon to him due to Dr. Dre’s homophobic and misogynistic views in his music, and horrific actions in real life, which conflicts Dr. Drai’s standing in the LGBTQ community and his expertise in transgender issues. Said Dr. Drai:

“Being an OB/GYN, I cannot be associated with anyone that has any kind of misogynistic speech because it’s a bad reflection on me as a doctor.”

So, Dr. Drai gets to remain Dr. Drai despite the drama drawn out by Dr. Dre. That’s very clear and makes sense right? For more draining dream like dramas of Drais and Dres, make sure to follow us on Twitter at @WhatsDrending — I mean — @WhatsTrending.
