Celebrity Reactions to Kanye Running For President

Kanye West made a big announcement this week, saying that he is going to run for President in November. The reactions from fans and celebrities are hilarious.

Did the election in November get even more complicated? On July 4th he tweeted, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for President of the United States! #2020Vision”

This came as a shock to a lot of people, but it isn’t the first time that Kanye said he would run for president. Back in 2015 at the MTV Music Awards, he ended his speech by saying that he was going to run for president in 2020. Even in 2019 at a press conference, he mentioned that he was going to run for president in 2024.

After seeing Kanye’s tweet, other celebrities gave their commentary. Piers Morgan said something we were all thinking. He tweeted, “Not now, Kanye. Seriously.” Even though Kanye West might be completely serious about trying to get on the ballot in November, some celebrities took this time to joke around.

Actress Tiffany Haddish used the exact same tweet as Kanye, pretending that she was also running for president. The next day she tweeted, “Well this just in Dave Chappelle will be my running mate.” Even Paris Hilton decided to play along.

She tweeted, “Paris for president!” and then said, “President Paris, I like the sound of that #MakeAmericaHotAgain”. Some celebrities actually support Kanye West’s announcement. Elon Musk commented, “You have my full support!” and obviously Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian West showed her support by retweeting an American flag emoji.

People are trying to understand why he would run if he has shown his love and support for Donald Trump in the past. Some think this is a way to get votes away from Biden. A comment on his tweet says, “West is a Trump supporter. This stunt is likely a pact between Trump and West to try to pull votes from Biden. Who is the likely focus? Black voters. It’s an insult to black voters to think they would automatically vote for West solely based on race”

Some are confused because he hasn’t officially done any paperwork, and the election is 4 months away. Marques Brownlee commented, “I think you might be a tiny bit late for this election”

Who knows if Kanye will take the next steps to run for President, but we hope that everyone will vote for someone that can actually lead our country.
