Chris Evans has played the role of Captain America for close to a decade now, premiering in Captain America: The First Avenger, and now seemingly saying good bye to the character in a a Tweet the actor posted on September 4th which bid farewell to the role as the final scenes of the now untitled Avengers 4 was shot. The actor Tweeted: “Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”

Wether this means Evans is leaving because the character’s arc is finished, or because the character dies for good in the movie is yet to be known, but fans are heartbroken over Evans’ exit, and excited to see what kind of epic adventure Chris Evans’ Captain America has left them with.
