Okay, yes, definitely, sign us up for this dream casting. In an interview with PeopleTV’s Chatter, Fran Drescher expressed that she wants rapper and just– fantastically funny person — Cardi B to play her daughter in a Nanny reboot. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Said Drescher, as transcribed on People.com, said

“I wanna do a sitcom with Cardi B. Wouldn’t she be great as my daughter?”

The idea came when Cardi B posted an Instagram of her wearing a leopard print that she openly attributed to Drescher and The Nanny for inspiration, saying in her caption, “Fran Drescher in @dolcegabbana”.

Said Drescher: “I was so flattered. I just thought she paid homage to me wearing animal print and said ‘Fran Drescher. And then I got my juices flowing and thought, ‘Wait a minute, she’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter…Not from me and Mr. Sheffield, I would have to have a man of color. I’m down with the brothers.”

Fran Drescher and Cardi B is clearly a dream pairing, but fans might have to wait a lot longer than they would like since well, there’s not really a Nanny reboot in production! It’s just in the discussion stages at this point, but if we bring back every other show, why not The Nanny!? It was ahead of its time, folks!

Drescher however, through good humor, shows that despite fan enthusiasm, and her own enthusiasm, studios are unsure. Said Drescher:

“I’m totally down with doing it. I don’t know what is going on with some of these networks out there because they do not seem to be hip to the fact that there’s an obsession amongst millennials for the show and moi!”

Maybe the possibility of some Cardi B star power can make this incredible show finally happen. Fran Drescher and Cardi B! My God. The energy will make my mind melt!
