For the longest time, entertainment for us 90’s kids was– well, there was a lot of it. But one project continued to be shrouded in mystery: Space Jam 2. A sequel to the original Space Jam, the 1996 movie which teamed Michael Jordan with the Looney Tunes so they can play basketball against the infamous talent stealing aliens the Monstars, has long been rumored. The possibility of LeBron James as the star was hoped for, but Blake Griffin was often rumored too. Now with LeBron James coming close to eclipse Michael Jordan as the GOAT, so too come the announcment of something exciting… with the first image being released that announces, officially, the majesty, the glory, that is Space Jam 2. As if the kids at LeBron’s Promise School couldn’t be excited about their founder enough.

Tweeted out by LeBron James’ production company, Spring Hills Entertainment, we don’t see a sign yet of LeBron playing basketball with the likes of the ever charming Looney Tunes, but we do see four lockers, each announcing a star or creative head. We now have confirmation, after some hemming and hawing, that indeed LeBron James will be the NBA star in the center of this motion picture extravaganza. Bugs Bunny is in, which seems like a no brainer considering he is a drawing and you can just draw him into the damn thing.

Ryan Coogler, who, of course, is the director of Creed and Black Panther, is producing and, weirdly enough, Terrence Nance is directing. For those of you who don’t know, Terrence Nance is the creator of the HBO sketch/art film show, “Random Acts of Flyness”, about as trippy a show as you can imagine. So if you ever wanted Wile E. Coyote to melt your brain as if it was so much chewing gum, well there you go.

Now, without further ado, here is the scene in Space Jam (the original) where the Looney Tunes all think water gives them powers and Danny DeVito’s alien character beats up Wayne Knight, enjoy.
