“We Will Rock You” Has a “Fast” Version, and It’s Really Freaking Good
Recorded in 1977 for DJ John Peel, Hall of Fame Rock band Queen has released a new song. Well, a new version of their song “We Will Rock You”. It’s been a good week for remixes, with Ten Second Songs covering “Heathens”.
The new version of the well-known song is without the familiar stomp-stomp-CLAP of the original. Instead, the newly released song is faster. It sounds a lot like an early punk song, something you might hear from Dead Kennedys or the Sex Pistols.
According to the Daily Dot, the new version of the classic song was released for Queen’s upcoming live album Queen on Air. The album will feature the band’s BBC sessions. The deluxe version will also feature interviews. The song had been played regularly at Queen’s live concerts, but was never released on a recording.
Queen on Air is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2016.
