Pickle Rick, Tiffany Haddish and More in the 2018 Emmy Nominees

Folks, it’s been another year for television which means it’s been another year for talking about television, a beloved past time of anyone near a water cooler, a glowering book display featuring a halfway funny Alec Baldwin dressed as Trump, or simply trying to break the ice on an increasingly dire first date (excuse me?! She hasn’t seen The Marvelous Ms. Maisel? Good bye!). So, it is in the spirit of how fun it is to talk about TV, our old babysitter for when times were rough, that we present the 2018 Emmy Nominations!

So what do we have? Game of Thrones and SNL both topped the nominations with 22 and 21 nominations respectively. SNL easily has some of the more interesting ones, with its variety of incredible hosts and cast members scoring nominations including Tiffany Haddish, Donald Glover, Tina Fey, Kenan Thompson, Bill hader and Leslie Jones. Alec Baldwin recieved a nomination, but as a supporting actor rather than a guest (so does this make him a cast member now? Ugh. I hope Titus Burgess of “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” trounces him).

Donald Glover himself received nominations in three categories — which, along with guest actor, for acting and writing on the incredible Atlanta. Atlanta snagged nominations for Bryan Tyree Henry, Zazi Beetz and the writing on two episodes, and the directing on one.

Also, Fuller House is competing with Sesame Street, the Pickle Rick episode of Rick and Morty got nominated and for some reason no one nominated a voice actor who’s come up since 1999, with Seth MacFarlane grabbing two spots, but they, those are just my annoyances! Check out the full list of nominees below!
