Josh Richards, Griffin Johnson, Noah Beck and Anthony Reeves have all officially made the move over to TikTok’s LA based rival app Triller. The app is an AI-driven music video and entertainment platform financially backed by rappers Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne.

The guys will not just be creating content but also forming part of the strategy team and holding equity share in the company. Richards is investing in the app and joining their team as Chief Strategy Officer while Johnson, Beck, and Reeves will be equity shareholders.

Their departure from TikTok is no surprise considering the app with 800 million monthly active users  has been facing sever backlash from the US government for storing large amounts of user data.

“After seeing the U.S. and other countries’ governments’ concerns over TikTok — and given my responsibility to protect and lead my followers and other influencers — I followed my instincts as an entrepreneur and made it my mission to find a solution,” Richards said on his decision to leave, according to the Los Angeles Times.

These top influencers publicly announced their slow departure from TikTok earlier this week and have been posting TikToks with Thriller merchandise. It seems like they are tying to organically introduce the app to their followers to eventually make the leap and take their nearly 47 million followers with them onto Triller.

Griffin spoke with the LA Times  about what his departure from TikTok will look like, “We will be posting but a lot of our posts will be more trying to move them off of that platform onto Triller,” he said.

Griffin also shared a tweet stating that he was excited to leave the platform fully.

Fans aren’t all that thrilled at the idea of triller becoming the new TikTok. Concerns from fans have surfaced on twitter questioning if the boys left the platform purely for monetary compensation and not because it’s actually any  safer than TikTok.  Scroll down to see how people are reacting to the Triller migration.
