United Airlines Ignores Dua Lipa’s Sister’s Nut Allergy

Dua Lipa, the 22-year-old One Kiss singer was disgusted when she informed United Airlines about her sister’s serve nut allergy, only to be told there was nothing they could do, as they’re not a ‘nut-free airline.’

United Airlines hasn’t been the favorite company to fly with, after the many negative press reports of them literally kicking people off flights due to over booking, and stories of poor puppies passing away, after being told to stuff animals in the overhead baggage bin as they’re not allowed on seats – the copious amounts of horrific stories would make you think that the company would try to better themselves, so that they could gain some positive press. But this is United Airlines, and they really do not care about the well-being of their customers, only the money.

So, when you get an A-list celebrity on your flight, knowing of all the bad stories she must’ve heard, but still chose to fly with you, you would think that the company would be on their best behavior and give the star anything she wanted, just to gain some positive press. Not United Airlines.

Dua Lipa took a flight with the company and informed the airline staff of her sister’s serve nut allergy, only to be told that there’s nothing they can do, and that her sister might have to use her EpiPen just to get through the flight. We should mention that an EpiPen should only be used in a life-threatening situation as a way to get some adrenaline to your body, so the fact that they’re suggesting that her sister could possibly be in the situation where she might die, is absolutely terrible.

Typically, when someone with a well-known name takes their complaint about a company to Twitter, the company are very quick to respond, to prevent any more negative publicity, and in all fairness, United did. However, the company replied with a typical tweet, asking if she could direct message them with the flight information. They asked Dua Lipa, one of the busiest, and popular artists right now, to direct message them. As if she has the time to do that, and even more so not offering her any proper apology or dealing with the situation there and then, shows that their customer service is just as bad as their on-flight staff.

Many of Lupa’s fans and celebrity friends responded to the tweet, saying how ridiculous the airline’s response was, with a few comparing United’s attitude to the situation of allergies to other airlines who promptly and easily deal with them.

Although, some other fans had another opinion on the matter, which we 100% agree with…

Britney would announce that nut allergy in the tune of Toxic, whilst having a full choreography prepared to go along with the announcement. Take note, United, that is how it should be done.

Do you think United Airlines were wrong to say this to Dua Lipa and her sister? Reckon more policies need to be enforced amongst airlines regarding allergies? Let us know in the comments, or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending
