VIDEO: Pete Davidson Does Amazing Take Down of Kanye Following His Rant

I would have never thought it was possible, but Pete Davidson is slowly becoming on of Saturday Night Live’s most reliable stars. Wether it’s his spiels on Weekend Update or him breaking — but again, in a very charming way — through a sketch at SNL, he’s become the recognizable friend of the audience that we can’t help but want to reach out through the TV and muss up his hair (hopefully NBC is working on that technology as we speak). Now he’s come on Weekend Update to talk about the story that made SNL into a story, Kanye West’s unhinged rant from the end of Saturday Night Live’s premiere episode that indulged in conspiracy theories and proceeded to blame the entire cast of SNL for… something.

For those who need a reminder, Kanye West called the entire cast on stage, proceeded to claim that he was being bullied for his MAGA hat, and continued to espouse some pretty awful opinions. Pete Davidson came on to discuss the scene, calling it “one of the worst, most awkward things I’ve ever seen here… and I’ve seen Chevy Chase speak to an intern.”

What a good Chevy Chase burn. As for why Davidson was the one to talk about the Kanye situation as opposed to a black performer given how… shockingly pro slavery Kanye’s MAGA weekend turned out being, Davidson said “we discussed it, you know, because Che is black, but I’m crazy and we both know which side of Kanye is at the wheel right now.”

So what did Davidson talk about? Well, hilariously, he showed live footage of just how awkward he felt throughout the whole thing, first burying his head, then slinking off because he “still wants a career”. As for Kanye’s comments about being bullied, well… according to Davidson: “He started by saying people backstage tried to bully him into not wearing it. He wore it all week. Like, nobody told him not to wear it. I wish I bullied you. I wish I suggested that, you know, it might upset some people, like, your wife or every black person ever.”

Davidson continued to discuss how Kanye is a genius, but a musical genius, and then proceeded to talk about something I wish more media discussed – the importance of taking your damn meds. Kanye has been open about being off his meds, and his behavior has seemingly reflected this, and Davidson discussed how one time he didn’t take his meds he ended up biting his mom. So take your meds, folks! Be a 2018 Davidson, not a 2018 Kanye!

Davidson then proceeds to put on a hat which says “Make Kanye 2006 Again”. Kanye, please don’t bully him for wearing that hat, sir.
