Florida rapper Project Youngin was apparently shot at while previewing a new track on Instagram Live on July 29 on Instagram.

Project Youngin, whose real name is Rasheed Jamaal Hall, is a promising up-and-comer in Florida’s rap scene, known for his collaboration with Lil Baby, and the track “Biggest Blessing” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again. In May, he released a track with Quando Rando called “Yesterday”. On Instagram Live, Youngin was sharing a track from his upcoming mixtape, Thug Souljas.

After about 40 seconds, though, shots ring out, and Youngin falls out of view.

There hasn’t been a ton of information since this happened on Sunday, but Youngin apparently survived the attack.

His team on Twitter wrote: “Thank you everyone for your prayers. We will let you know about Project Youngins condition soon.”

His latest Instagram post is from the day of the shooting, a clip of a track from Thug Souljas. Youngin’s friend Julio Foolio posted a video of them together on Instagram along with the caption “Stay Up Big Brother.” All this would seem to indicate that Youngin survived the shooting, but may not be out of the woods.

There are also a few comments putting forth that the shooting is fake, including this headline from Scallywag & Vagabond that starts with the headline “PR Job?” But, at the moment, there’s no indication that that’s the case, and we have every reason to believe that Project Youngin really was shot at.

He had previously shared photos from a recording studio in Broward County, Florida, which XXL magazine pointed out is the same area where XXXTentacion was shot and killed in June. Four suspects have been indicted connected to the death of XXXTentacion. Three of those suspects have been taken into custody. A fourth suspect, Trayvon Newsome, remains at large.

There’s really no information out yet on the apparent assassination attempt of Project Youngin…and nothing that connects it to the murder of XXXTentacion, other than they’re both rappers from South Florida.
