On Friday, you’ll be able to buy People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue, and one of the Hemsworth brothers will be on the cover — either the guy who plays Thor or the guy from The Hunger Games. I will look it up.

    Okay, it’s Thor.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Hemsworth’s face was obscured and his voice altered. Members of Kimmel’s studio audience asked questions to attempt to reveal the Sexiest Man Alive’s identity. It took a little while, until a few savvy audience members narrowed it down to “plays a superhero,” “superhero holds a hammer,” which leaves only Hammerman and Thor. Once Hammerman was eliminated, only Thor was remaining.

People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” award is determined by a mathematical rating system designed by Nate Silver and MIT researchers, analyzing face symmetry, public perception and general heart-throbbery. Hemsworth received a Hunkyness quotient score of 81.4, the highest since Richard Gere took the award in 1993. Of course, there have always been allegations of doping against Gere, so a big fat asterisk sits next to both of his Sexiest Man wins.
