  • Today clothing line Lululemon had to learn the hard way what happens when you poke a BeyHive — you get swarmed. For like 12 hours.

Superstar and Queen of the Internet Beyonce pulled another Beyonce by suddenly announcing her new “athleisure” line (I learned a new word today!) called Ivy Park, featuring lots of form-fitting black athletic wear, bodysuits, and edgy tees and hoodies — the kinds of things that make us all wish we looked like Beyonce.

When someone on Twitter remarked “Is Ivy Park supposed to be like lululemon?” the brand tried to jump on the hype, replying in a now-deleted tweet, “They do say imitation is the best form of flattery. Maybe Beyonce is so Crazy in Love with our brand, she made her own.”

That was not a good idea, and now they’ve spent the rest of the day backpedalling in the face of hundreds if not thousands of angry Beyonce fans.

  • Let’s spare a moment for Lululemon’s exhausted social media team, who won’t be making this mistake again any time soon.
