Competitive eaters participated in a weigh-in ceremony before the Nathan's Famous 4th of July hot dog eating contest on July 3, 2023 in New York City. Competitive eaters Joey Chestnut, Michelle Lesco, Miki Sudo and Nick Wehry posed for photos during the event. The event was emceed by George Shea, co-founder of Major League Eating. Eating 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes is currently the record held by World champion Joey Chestnut. Eating 48 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes is currently the record held by competitive eater Miki Sudo. Nathan's employee's displayed hot dogs in those amounts.
