Taylor Swift has returned with new single! After launching a mystery weeks-long countdown on her website and social media, ending on midnight, April 26, the country singer turned pop sensation dropped the song, “ME!,” accompanied by a music video.

Swift collaborated with Panic! at the Disco’s lead vocalist Brendon Urie in the upbeat single. The two definitely work well together! In an interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, Swift gave some insight into what the track is about.

It’s about embracing your individuality and celebrating it and owning it. With a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads. I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves.”

The singer had some fun before the release of her new song, dropping plenty of hints about the title through her Instagram account. The tone of this release is much different from Swift’s previous album, Reputation, which dropped in 2017. The record featured hit songs like “Look What You Made Me Do,” along with lyrics such as “I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, ‘cause she’s dead!”

“ME!” takes a ‘brighter’ approach, literally. The whimsical music video is flooded with pastels, rainbows, a unicorn, and even one of Swift’s pet cats! Immediately, Swift’s fans went crazy for the surprise, posting on social media about Easter eggs throughout the video . When it comes to her fans, Swift only has kind words.

“I cannot believe how dedicated they are, how thoughtful. I can’t believe how much they care. So it makes it more fun for me to create music, to create videos knowing they will care about Easter eggs or clues or hints. It’s great to make it for people who care.”

Be sure to give the “ME!” music video a watch. You won’t regret it!
