This Teacher’s Heartwarming Treat Went Viral

Lots of teachers try creative ways to break the ice with their new students, and Ms. Nattaya Nat, a primary school teacher in Thailand, is no different.

This video of Nattaya greeting her students on the first day of class has gone viral. The teacher offers her little charges a choice between a high-five, a fist bump, or a hug, illustrated on picture cards by the door to her classroom. After the kids make a choice and greet their new teacher, they’re ushered inside.

You might have noticed a wider trend of teachers practicing neat little greetings right before class. It’s been seen before in U.S., and some parts of Asia, including Singapore. This American teacher’s video, which went viral last year, is almost identical to Nattaya’s.

People don’t seem to mind the similarities, though. This teacher is getting a lot of praise for brightening her young class’s day.
