Whole Chicken + Silicone + Gummy Candy + Chocolate = Magic

  • I’ve heard of gummy turkey, but gummy chicken?! Now that’s just ridiculous.

Grant Thompson, better known as YouTube’s King of Random, had a very busy week. He started on November 24th by uploading this video, which baffled many and earned plenty of dislikes on YouTube. In the video, he pours liquid silicone on top of a roast chicken, and… that’s it. I can see why people were confused. Here’s the original video:

  • What’s the deal? Why pour silicone on top of a chicken? Thankfully, Grant’s fans didn’t have to wait long to find out what was going on, as he paid off the suspense generated by his first video by uploading a follow-up. Here’s his wildly popular second video, uploaded two days later:

  • Turns out he was pouring silicone on a chicken so that he could make a life-size chicken mold. (He also eats some of the chicken, which is… kinda gross.)

What would he use a chicken mold for? The same thing any sensible person would use it for: to make chicken-shaped desserts. Check out videos number three and four:

  • First there was the Gummy Candy Chicken…:

  • …then there was the Milk Chocolate Chicken:

  • Clearly, Grant is on a roll here. There’s a lot more to his channel than just “food shaped like other food,” though — remember his summer life hacks video? It was three years ago, so probably not, but still!

Shine on, you crazy diamond. May you shape all kinds of semi-solids into chickens, and may your dinner guests be ever surprised.

What do you think? If you had to eat a chocolate chicken, a gummy chicken, or a regular chicken that had been under silicone for days, which would you pick? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter!
