Barney Frank To Retire From Congress
Franks, a Democrat from Massachusetts, has served in the House of Representatives since 1980 and was one the first openly gay congressmen. He is most well-known for guiding the passage of extensive reform for the financial system after the collapse of the banking industry in 2008.
It is suspected that a major reason for his decision to retire is the redrawn congressional district in which Representative Frank would have to run.
