GOP Debate Reveals Where Candidates Stand on SOPA
Last night, John King surprised viewers and republican candidates during the GOP Debate wish a Twitter question surrounding the controversial bill that has created one of the biggest online protests in history- SOPA.
“What is your take on SOPA, and how do you believe it affects Americans,” a user asked the candidates via Twitter.
Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney were all quick to reveal they were against the anti-piracy bill, while many thought Rick Santorum seemed a bit wishy-washy with his response: “The Internet is not a free zone where anybody can do anything they want to do. I’m for free but I’m not for people abusing the law, and that’s what’s happening right now.” Santorum has been affected by the freedom of the internet and its users, having been the target of gay rights activist Dan Savage who managed to get a sexual definition for Santorum to dominate Google search results instead of the actual politicians name.
